What is it that enables successful leaders to enhance their strategic thinking capability to create tangible results?

The answer is a ‘Leadership Edge’, or more specifically, a unique and personal leadership strategy designed to help leaders excel in their role.

Often when leaders are starting out on their leadership development journey, they will focus on the practical ‘how-to’ leadership skills, which are important, but are not factors that will create a transformational leader. Creating a ‘Leadership Edge’ mindset is crucial in order to become a leader that inspires and motivates a team to create strategic and sustainable results for the business.

We encourage leaders to use their own unique style to create purpose for their teams, to drive behaviour change and deliver measurable results that lead to a cycle of continuous business improvement, ultimately creating a competitive advantage.

We utilise the Resilience Edge™ framework, and apply robust psychological leadership and performance methodology in a business context. Our approach is underpinned by rigorous research, and leaders will be working with experienced and qualified psychologists to unlock their leadership potential and create tangible personal, team and organisational results.

Leadership Edge Model

Our programme explores each of the six pillars of the Leadership Edge framework from three perspectives: developing a leadership mindset, creating high performing teams, and strategically directing business results.

1) DEVELOPING A LEADERSHIP MINDSET

The heart of true leadership lies with developing a mindset that will enable leaders to cope effectively with the unique challenges and pressures they face in their role, and to enhance their mindset to reach their leadership potential and consistently perform in a way that reflects this.

Through the use of diagnostic tools, we’ll help leaders build self-awareness and identify cognitive limitations and biases. This reflection process will enable leaders to identify their leadership strengths and challenges, and highlight areas of development opportunity that will enhance personal leadership capabilities. We encourage leaders to find their own unique leadership style, drawing on their personal strengths and experience.

2) CREATING HIGH PERFORMING TEAMS

Not only are leaders responsible for their own success, but the success of their teams. Developing a ‘Leadership Edge’ will enable leaders to drive forward, create resilient and high-performing teams and focus on creating sustainable results.

Through the use of intensive coaching and experiential learning methods, we’ll create a balance of challenge and support to have a transformational impact on how the leader guides their team to success. We’ll focus on the interactions and communication between the leader and their team, and we’ll help each leader create a bespoke operational guide that will get the best out of each and every member of their team.

3) DIRECTING BUSINESS RESULTS

Exceptional leaders firstly develop their ‘edge’ success mindset, focusing on how they reach their potential as a leader. The next step is to translate these skills to support team development, applied in conjunction with processes and systems that enhance team performance. It’s at this stage the leader can have a transformational impact on business results, by marrying strategic thinking and decision making skills with the ability to guide their team to collectively reach targets.

We’ll help leaders hone their strategic thinking and decision making skills through intensive coaching and experiential learning methods. We’ll also focus on social learning, helping to build a high performing leadership community and a network of exceptional leaders. Our psychologists will use a consultative coaching approach to aid leaders in building their strategic strength, defining their own strategic leadership approach with a focus on clear, measurable and tangible results.

HOW TO CREATE A LEADERSHIP EDGE

Designing a Leadership Edge programme for your leaders and organisation is a consultative process whereby our experienced practitioners will work with you to combine our Leadership Edge knowledge gained from extensive experience, robust research and innovative frameworks with your organisational context and requirements. Together we’ll define learning and organisational objectives and we’ll agree delivery methods that will achieve sustainable results for the business.
